So, it has been a bit since I’ve posted. The last few months feel like they have been a blur. Let’s jump back into it and talk about some products I have been loving lately.
Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo by Amika. I know, I have brown hair and am definitely not blonde. BUT! This shampoo is great if you have brown hair that fades or lightens. I stopped coloring my hair about three years ago and finally all of my hair is my natural brown. However, it does get lighter in the sun – especially in the summer. This shampoo is a purple shampoo that is supposed to help tone down the brassiness in your hair. I do feel like it does make a difference. I wash my hair every other day and typically shampoo twice to get rid of any product buildup. I usually use this shampoo second followed by a conditioner of choice.
I absolutely love Clinque’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. Initially I had picked up a sample size using some of my points from Sephora and I found I enjoy using it to remove my makeup. Like washing my hair, I generally do a double cleanse when washing my face. First I use micellar water to remove my eye makeup followed by a makeup removing wipe to get the bulk of my makeup off. I follow with this cleansing balm that goes by a balm consistency into a oil when rubbed on the face. When water is mixed in it then turns into a milky cleanser. I then go in with my cleanser of choice. I do feel like my skin doesn’t feel clean enough and I tend to get blemishes if I don’t do a double cleanse, especially when I don’t use this cleansing balm.
Have you heard of Dollar Shave Club? It’s a monthly subscription service for razors. I subscribed on a whim last year because I was sick of the high prices of a razor. I have an every other month subscription where I receive a box with four razor heads. My husband and I split the subscription and we each have a razor handle. We have a stock pile of razor heads because I initially had subscribed to a monthly subscription, but we weren’t using them quick enough. I then switched to an every other month subscription instead. We have the executive blades and it is $9 per month (or $9 every other month in my case). It’s so handy to not have to worry about buying razors when they just get delivered to my home.
Lastly, I have been using the Advanced Retinoid 2% serum by The Ordinary. This serum is supposed to reduce the signs of aging without irritation while also refining the skin’s texture. I am approaching 30 in less than a year so I’m all about preventing wrinkles for as long as possible. I apply a few drops every night and have really been enjoying this serum.
These are few items I’m loving right now. What you have you been loving lately? I’m on the hunt for a lighter, but still kind of matte foundation. If you have any recommendations please leave me a comment below!
